Smile My update - All well!

    Hi All,

Well after some spotting (only a bit) on Friday and then bad cramping and diarrhoea on sat and sun, I was quite nervous about my appointment today. Luckily it was better than I'd hoped for. My cervix is nicely closed and the stitch is holding well. Doc said they can pull out but it is very unlikely that this one will. Baby was big and well. He did an in-depth scan and everything was perfect.

He did a swab to check for infection which may have caused the spotting. He said to listen to my body and put the foot of the bed up slightly but said I no longer need to do the bed rest.

I see Prof Nicolau next week for our 20 week assessment and I know I'll feel happier after that.

After this appointment I've decided I need to start thinking about this LB coming home with us- for real. And stop thinking 'if he comes home with us' or 'if he makes it'. And start thinking of my EDD as when he'll be born and not months before assuming he'll be prem. So here's to positive thinking- I am going to practice this week!!

Fantastic news Jemma, it's wonderful that you can settle into the rest of your pregnancy with such optimism.

Interesting about putting the foot of the bed up. I always imagine all the blood flowing to my head and waking up with a puffball on my shoulders.
